BALL BOUNCES INTO BRUM
Being in charge can be a challenge, especially when it’s a vibrant and forward-looking recruitment company you’re working with.

Making things tick behind the scenes is the key to success.

So says a new face in Birmingham, James Ball, who is head of operations for recruitment consultants Angel Services Group.

The 31-year-old, of Aldridge, set up the company with three others five years ago in Walsall.

But their expansion plans meant a recent investment in new offices in Birmingham city centre.

James now spends most of his time making sure the team can get on with the job in hand, which means tackling anything from IT networking to overseeing the logistics of their recent move to Brindleyplace.

He has a background in sales and marketing, including time as a marketing manager in Richard Branson’s Virgin Group.

But he said running this business with partners Simon Ball, Mark Wilkinson and Anthony Hughes was even more enjoyable and challenging.

“I help the business run smoothly behind the scenes, allowing our consultants to concentrate on what they do best - matching people with jobs,” he said.

“It is a role I have sort of fallen into because there are a huge amount of loose ends to be consistently tied up so the business can continue to generate revenue.

“It made sense that one of us did that and the responsibility landed in my lap.”

James, a keep fit fanatic and music lover who plays numerous instruments, loves the new location.

“The environment in Brindleyplace is amazing. When I walk through the square it hits you how different it is - vibrant, dynamic, professional and corporate,” he said.

“It all helps to create an unbelievable platform to work and grow the business.

“It has been an eventful journey to get to where we are now, but we are looking forward to the future with even more enthusiasm.”
