Aston Business School Honours Excellence
07/02/08
Aston Business School has presented an honorary membership of the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) honour society to one of its alumni,Chris Wintle, Sales and Marketing Director of green energy company Ecotricity.
Beta Gamma Sigma recognises excellence in business students and is usually awarded to only the top 10 per cent on undergraduate business programmes. BGS has over half a million members across five continents and is recognised throughout the business world.
Chris Wintle’s honorary membership reflects his career performance and his contribution to Aston University and Aston Business School, where he sits on the Advisory Board.
He said “I was delighted to be presented with BGS membership, particularly as the chapter at Aston is the first and only one in the UK.
I think BGS’s association with the school underlines its commitment to students and to creating an inspirational learning environment to develop excellence in all. To be recognised for my efforts by both the School and BGS is a real honour.”
Professor Michael West, Executive Dean of Aston Business School agreed “It is a true honour to be awarded BGS membership.
“For younger students it is a significant addition to their CV, but for Chris it will more likely provide another opportunity to contribute to the resource for ideas, career development, as well as the professional and social networking that BGS is famed for.
The Awards were presented at the Prize giving ceremony at Aston University and chaired by Professor David Bennett and Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr Helen Higson. The event was sponsored by Deloitte; KPMG and Enterprise Rent a Car.
