16/01/08
The High Commissioner of India, His Excellency Mr Kamlesh Sharma attended a dinner with representatives of Aston Business School earlier this week at Birmingham’s top Indian restaurant Itihaas. (Monday 14th January) Hosted by the Indian Consul General in Birmingham Mrs Jordana Diengdoh Pavel, and attended by Dr Arun Bajaj of the Institute of Asian Business, the group explored ways of developing greater research and business links between the school and business communities in India.
Professor Michael West, Head of Aston Business School said “This was an inspirational and very successful meeting and we are delighted that His Excellency Mr Sharma was so encouraging about this region and about Aston Business School. I believe it was the combination of this region’s good reputation in India and Aston University’s commitment to ensuring that the huge benefits of cultural diversity and exchange are recognised and realised that brought such a senior figure to our city and to this productive meeting. We are confident as a consequence of this auspicious meeting that we will develop new and existing relationships and innovative ideas to benefit businesses and individuals working both here in the West Midlands and in India. We are very grateful to the Consul General for arranging the dinner and for bringing all of us together.”
