TOP BUSINESS SCHOOL HOSTS CUTTING EDGE CONFERENCE
Aston Business School is hosting a cutting edge conference for business leaders who have an eye on strategy.

The large scale workshop will bring together a wide range of leading thinkers on strategy from the business community in the UK and Europe. It aims to stimulate debate and discussion on new directions in strategy research and to produce papers for publication in a special issue of the Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal.

The Strategy, Partnerships and Organisations (SPO) programme takes place over two half days at Aston Business School on September 3rd and 4th 2007. Aston Business School is funding the event itself and is keen to engage with members of the business community whose role includes strategy development.

Stewart Clegg, Professor of Organisational and Work Culture, said the event would be a pioneering step forward for businesses.“We are bringing together some of the leading, cutting edge thinkers on strategy to structure a workshop around their current ideas,” he said.“The importance of strategy to contemporary organisations cannot be overstated and this is a great example of Aston Business School leading the way.

“We are providing a platform for lively discussion on how strategy is formulated and we will also open up debate on the links between accounting and strategy.”

The workshop is the first in a series to be held at Aston Business School that will enhance research into a range of topics.
