ASTON BUSINESS SCHOOL HELPS TOP UK FIRM TO LEAD
Aston Business School was today praised by a top UK firm for a successful partnership that continues to grow stronger.

Wolverhampton-based Carillion said the Birmingham-based school’s expertise had been invaluable to its Leadership Programme.

The two organisations have worked side by side for the past eight years, with the development programme continually evolving to offer the best benefit to the company as it changes and grows.

The aim of the programme is to develop aspiring leaders and fast track their careers.

Delegates receive a Diploma in Management after completing three MBA modules and a bespoke finance module in two years.

They are also required to undertake specific elements stipulated by Carillion, such as projects in strategy and corporate social responsibility, secondments across its 14 businesses and mentoring support.

Maureen Tompsett, Carillion’s Head of Career Development, said: “The Aston component of the programme has always been well received by our participants and we strive with Aston to improve it year on year.

“It adds an academic dimension that the participants are then able to apply practically when back in the business.”

Maureen Tompsett added: “The Aston facilitators work hard to understand our organisation that is complex and ever changing.

“Meetings are regularly held between facilitators and Carillion directors to share information and build on module content.”

Jonathan Harvey, Aston Business School’s Director of Operations for Executive Education, said the long-term relationship was based on open communication, trust and an understanding of the client’s needs.

“We have had a successful relationship with Carillion for eight years and it is important for a business of that size to work with a business school they can trust.

“We are flexible in our approach to Carillion and work hard to ensure we accommodate their needs, so we look forward to further success in the future.”

Carillion is a leading organisation in delivering integrated solutions for infrastructure, buildings and services.

Aston Business School was this week named in the top 50 Business Schools in the world, according to rankings.
