SIR HENRY SCORES RUGBY KNOCKOUT
Sports fans gathered at Bar Sport in Rugby to meet Sir Henry Cooper on Thursday evening, when he visited as part of the bar’s programme to bring sporting legends to the town to meet and talk to their fans.
The enthusiastic crowd reflected Sir Henry’s enduring popularity with the public, both young and old. Many of them remembering and reflecting with him on the nail biting match when he was the first boxer to knock down the World champion, Muhammad Ali.
Bar Sport owner Scott Murray, who has made the bar Rugby's ultimate sports watching venue said "We are committed to bringing sporting legends to the town and are thrilled that Sir Henry joined us and spoke with fans who were obviously delighted that this friendly and dynamic icon of British sport was so approachable.”
