FOOTBALL LEGEND JOINS FANS FOR MATCH
Football legend Tommy Docherty joined fans on Saturday afternoon at Bar Sport in Cannock, to watch the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Chelsea – both teams he has managed in his long and illustrious career. He was joined by guests for a pre-match lunch and provided some highly entertaining comments on the match, the teams and personalities involved as well as the new Wembley Stadium.
Bar Sport has a commitment to bring sporting heroes to their venues and this isn’t the first time the Doc has visited; “This place just gets better every time I come, there’s every sport you can think of on these screens – and if there’s a bad match on one of them, you can just watch something else!” He said, adding “There’s no need to buy a television if you can watch sport in a place like this.”
Tommy took time to meet and chat with Bar Sport customers throughout the afternoon, but with a foot in both camps, wouldn’t be drawn to favoritism, saying before the match only that he hoped ‘both teams win’.
A series of functions and events is planned to keep sports fans entertained throughout the summer at Bar Sports’ venues in Cannock, Walsall and Rugby as well as visits from more sporting heroes who will be calling in to meet and greet their fans.
