Greenhous unveils £250,000 PDI Workshop for the West Midlands
08/01/08
A Black Country business has unveiled a brand new building in a £250,000 investment to improve customer care. Greenhous Willenhall, which supplies and services vehicles to companies across the West Midlands, has opened a pre-delivery inspection (PDI) workshop at its existing site in Neachells Lane, Wolverhampton.
The 5,000 sq ft facility will supplement the existing operation and will add two members of staff to the existing workforce of 36 technicians. It was a necessary expansion, owing to the continued success of DAF trucks and the popularity of the locally made LDV Maxus van, which are both sold by the firm.
The PDI workshop will customise trucks and vans to the customer’s exact requirements before they are driven away for the first time - like adding tracker units, wing deflectors, fire extinguishers, sound systems or other individually tailored extras.
The new facility is expected to process more than 1,000 vehicles in 2008. It will provide for all the needs of truck and van drivers in the West Midlands who purchase new vehicles from Greenhous.
The workshop has taken six months to build and was unveiled this week.
It will be open 24 hours a day throughout the week, starting 6.30am on Mondays and ending on Saturdays at 1pm. The team will be led by Service Director Wayne Fletcher, who has been with Greenhous since 1989.
He said: “We are very pleased to be in the position of having to expand our operations due to the volume of business.
“This new facility is a significant investment in the future for Greenhous and will mean we can offer even better customer care than before.”
