PIMP MY VAN PLEASE!
When Brian Tonks traded in his car and van for just one vehicle, he made sure to get all the creature comforts thrown in.
From a built-in TV screen and MP3 player to reversing cameras and steps for his grandchildren, he ordered the lot.
He bought the souped up, thunder grey LDV Maxus from Greenhous LDV in Neachells Lane, Wolverhampton.
And by combining work and pleasure in just one vehicle, he saves money and is more environmentally friendly.
The 55-year-old construction engineer, of Bushbury, Wolverhampton, spent around £20,000 and included enough extras that TV show Pimp My Ride would have been proud.
The six seater van, with a massive storage space behind, is also perfect for his favourite pastime - a weekend away with the family.
Extras include built-in electronic equipment like DVD and MP3 players, TV screen, navigator, reversing cameras and special stereo system.
He also had bull bars, steps and added security installed.
“It has got everything that it is possible to put on it so I guess you could say I have pimped my ride,” Mr Tonks said.
“It is a lot cheaper and greener than having two vehicles on the road and I got the extras put in so that when I’m away I have lots to keep me entertained.”
Mr Tonks lost his wife of 37 years, Patricia, last May, and decided that going to see Greenhous would help him spend more time with the family.
He added: “Greenhous have been fantastic by arranging everything for me from start to finish and the grandchildren love it.”
Denise Foreman, Van Sales Executive at Greenhous LDV, said: “It has been nice dealing with Brian, it’s a great van and we’re always pleased to see him when he pops in to tell us about his latest adventures.”
