TWO TOP AWARDS FOR WEST MIDLANDS TRUCK FIRM
Two top awards have been scooped by staff of a leading West Midlands truck dealership.
Van Driver of the Year Kelvin Page and Outstanding Achiever Jaz Ram both work at Black Country-based Greenhous Commercials.
The victorious pair were presented with cut glass trophies at the DAF Awards 2007, in front of around 100 people from dealerships across the UK.
Kelvin Page, aged 34 of Ashmore Park, Wolverhampton, makes five delivery runs a day from the dealership in Neachells Lane, Willenhall, and was nominated because of his skills with customers and colleagues.
Jaz Ram, aged 33 of Finchfield, was nominated for the award ahead of more than 30 colleagues, but still did not expect to win.
“I was shocked, it was a big surprise but it is good to be recognised for my hard work,” he said.
Kelvin Page said his success had still not sunk in properly.
He added: “My attitude has always been not to provide excuses if somebody asks for help, but to do it.”
Steve Crick, Parts Director at Greenhous Commercials, said it was a fantastic achievement to have two awards at the same dealership.
“Kelvin offers an unparalleled level of service to customers, but still finds time to help out his colleagues when back at base,” he said.
“This attitude has made him a real team player and he is very popular with both staff and customers.”
“Jaz’s award was very hard to win, but he is an essential member of the team and has a consistently high level of commitment and dedication to ensure the smooth running of the business.”
