Greyhound becomes rock dog

Retirement from racing at Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium has taken on a whole new dimension for Lady the greyhound. She’s begun a career as a model.

One of her first assignments took her to rock radio station Kerrang in Birmingham, where she took part in a photo shoot for a secret project, which also involved a visit to the studios to meet presenters Christian Stevenson and Loz Guest.

Kerrang’s Alana Ennis said “People had told me to avoid working with children and animals, which didn’t bode well for the photo shoot with some of the Kerrang presenters and a greyhound! But it all turned out well, and it was a delight to have Lady in the studio.”

Perry Barr Stadium’s manager Carol Chown-Smith said “Retired greyhounds make great pets, and as it turns out, good photographic models too! When we answered the call from Kerrang, we knew that Lady was going to be good for the job – she’d made her modelling debut a few months ago on a speedway bike and had performed really well. We can’t wait to see how the pictures turn our.”
