A new generation of self closing pillar tap from Inta can help make that happen. The Perfect Time delivers a more sophisticated alternative to the traditional mechanical types that are already on the market, and can make a marked improvement to the economy and environment of washrooms.

Makes Anti-Scald Easy - 29/09/06
Bath time can be made safer with an anti-scald mixing valve, a device that
blends together hot and cold water, to fill a bath to just the right temperature.
The valves, which can be fitted out of sight behind a bath panel, or as
part of a new tap are a safety feature designed to reduce the 20 deaths
and 570 serious injuries caused by bath time scalding each year. The under
5’s and elderly are most at risk from hot water, but for everyone,
an anti-scald valve can add an extra dimension to convenience when filing
the bath! A thermostatically filled bath can mean that the water is at
the right temperature for you to climb straight in.
Westminster
Anti-Scald Campaign for Local Manufacturer - 05/09/06
Staffordshire thermostatic valve manufacturer Intatec took their bath time
anti-scald campaign to Westminster this week, joining a conference hosted
by Mary Creagh MP for Wakefield, who aims to introduce legislation that
would make anti-scald valves compulsory in new bathrooms. The conference
heard from burns specialists, representatives of the plumbing trade and
from a children’s charity, who outlined not just the physical trauma
and cost of a scalding injury, but the psychological trauma too. They also
heard how easy it is to make the plumbing changes that can keep scalding
hot water out of the bathroom.
Inta
has solar flair - 09/08/06
Environmental concerns, spiralling fuel bills and constantly evolving technology
has led to a huge increase in the popularity of solar heating systems.
Thermostatic control for hot water is increasing in popularity too, driven
by the obvious anti-scald safety benefits, as well as the prospect of legislation
to limit the outlet temperature of hot water in bathrooms. Solar systems
can reach very high temperatures, even exceeding the normal 85 degrees
maximum inlet of standard mixing valves (TMV`s), so Inta have produced
Intamix Solar, anti-scald valves engineered for high temperature extremes
as Cynthia Fisher of anti-scald specialists Intatec explains:

Intaflo is a range of high performance thermostatic showers designed by
Inta to look good and fit into any style of bathroom. The Intaflo Modern
which is available in dual or sequential control has been engineered to
deliver high flow rates, even at low pressures, with an incredible 14litres
per minute at only 0.1 bar up to a drenching 35 litres per minute at 1.0
bar. And for end users, it’s looks and performance that count, no
matter what type of hot water system they’re being fitted to – un-vented,
gravity, mains pressure or even combi boilers.
Time
to take bath out of bathroom? - 24/04/06
Is a long soak in the bath becoming a thing of the past? In some homes
it is and research by Inta shows that it’s as much down to personal
choice as it is to constraints of time and convenience. The research, which
set out to discover temperature preferences for bathing and showering across
a wide cross section of the public established a few things – that
the difference in the actual temperatures people said were right for them,
between those who said they preferred a cool shower and those who said
they preferred a hot shower was only 4 degrees. And there was an equal
split between the two when asked “When you have plenty of time to
relax – would you rather take a bath or a shower?”
Anti-Scald – What
Scotland Needs to Know - 04/04/06
Changes to Scottish building regulations mean that all new bathrooms and
bathroom refurbishments must include an anti-scald valve (thermostatic
mixing valve) to prevent bathtime scalding. The valves, which should be
accredited to TMV2 standard for homes can either be a tap or bath shower
mixer which has an integral anti-scald feature or a standard tap fitted
in conjunction with a separate anti-scald valve.
Hot
Water Regulations - The Debate Hots Up - 29/03/06
The debate on legislation for regulating the temperature of bath water
is hotting up with the introduction today of an early day motion into the
House of Commons by Mary Creagh MP for Wakefield. She’s calling for
anti-scald devices (otherwise know as thermostatic mixing valves) to become
compulsory in new homes to start making headway on reducing the number
of people who are killed or seriously injured by bathtime scalding.
New
Anti-Scald Price List Makes a Splash - 23/03/06
Anti-scald equipment manufacturer Intatec have just published their new
price list, which this time contains so much more than just prices. In
the past twelve months, the product range has expanded to include not only
more of Inta’s core anti-scald TMV2 and TMV3 taps and valves, but
also infra red taps, anti-vandal shower panels and the most attractive
all-in-one TMV3 pillar tap on the market. There are even highly innovative
products for the less able – including a shower rail that doubles
as a grab rail – a simple, but very effective innovation.
Water Saving Devices Save Money Too -
26/02/06
Concerns about impending hose pipe bans and the current UK water shortage
have caused plumbing equipment manufacturer Intatec to draw attention to
their range of water saving devices. These include a variety of products,
which although originally intended for use in public washrooms, are increasingly
being used in work places and domestic situations. At the familiar end
of the product spectrum are non-concussive taps, the kind that are pushed,
rather than turned – they deliver a flow of water and shut off automatically
after a set period of time. There are timed flow devices for use in both
basins and showers too, in fact, anywhere a tap is likely to be left on
and water wasted. At the hi-tech end of the range are infra-red taps. These
are activated simply by placing hands under the tap and water flows until
the movement stops.
Anti-Scald – What do merchants know? - 18/01/06
Intatec manufacture Anti-Scald valves with TMV2 and TMV3 accreditation,
and with the imminent arrival of new regulations in Scotland, which will
be closely followed by regulations for England, Northern Ireland and
Wales, those will be two important accreditations to look out for.
Too
Hot to Legislate? - 10/01/06
Intatec investigates the common sense behind new Anti-Scald regulations.
In Scotland, legislation is pending for this spring to limit the temperature
of hot water to safe temperatures in bathrooms. We anticipate it will apply
to any new build and possibly for refurbishment, it doesn’t mean
that every household needs to rush out to fit a thermostatic mixing valve
(TMV), although with 580 serious injuries and around 20 deaths caused each
year in the UK through bath time scalding, that wouldn’t be a bad
idea.
Anti-Scald
Performance from a 14 litre Stunner - 24/11/05
Shower valves are all about successfully combining style with performance.
What sets the exceptional valves apart from the rest is how they perform
at low pressure and that’s just what the Intaflo range from Inta
has been designed to do, with an astonishing 14 litres per minute flow
at only 0.1 bar, right up to 35 litres per minute at 1.0 bar. All with
a temperature stability of + or – 2 degrees.
Safety
Sponsorship for Inta
Safety has always been at the forefront for thermostatic mixing valve (TMV)
manufacturer Inta and the safety theme continues with their sponsorship
of the latest 'how safe is your child from burns and scalds?' leaflet from
Child Accident Prevention Trust, the charity committed to reducing accidental
injury in children.
