A PILLAR OF THE COMMUNITY
Local business woman, Cynthia Fisher, has a rather unusual problem to solve. How exactly do you recycle two Greek columns when you have finished with them?

“They say that the Greeks shaped modern life; developing the cornerstone of western civilisation,” explained Cynthia, Commercial Director for Hixon based Intatec. “But I’m not sure whether they developed a recycling programme for the odd spare column!”

Intatec is a manufacturer of anti-scald taps, showers and bathroom equipment and used the columns for a stand at an exhibition. It has a company-wide commitment to environmental issues, recently announcing that it is officially CarbonNeutral®. This means that it has zero net carbon emissions, and believes that it is the first company in Staffordshire and indeed the first in its industry to reach this status.

“I was hoping that someone would have a use for these Greek columns, a theatre group or school perhaps? They’d make a great prop for a Greek tragedy or maybe even some ostentatious interior design!”

The columns are free to a good home and can even be delivered locally. For further information please contact Intatec on 01889 207200.
