SMOOTHING THE BLOW OF THE BAN
For a large section of the population, Saturday night is going to be a bit of a sad affair – saying goodbye to an old drinking pal. The smoking ban which is effective from Sunday 1st July will see many trying all sorts of methods which will allow them to still visit their favourite watering hole whilst not suffering the anguish of not having a cigarette, as oppose to risking the good old English Summer weather and standing outside. One Midlands bar owner is offering his customers a helping hand and encouraging them to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Bar Sport which has sites in Cannock, Rugby and Walsall is working with NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) specialist Matt Caulfield during the week leading up to the ban to help customers quit the habit. Matt will be visiting all three of the Bar Sport sites and giving free sessions to any regulars who wish to overcome their addiction. NLP relies on the positive reinforcement of messages to achieve certain goals, a kind of ‘reprogramming’ of the brain. Working on a one-to-one basis Matt will reinforce the positive benefits of non-smoking which should result in an easier way to quit, reducing agonising cravings and making the path to a cleaner life less painful.
“The important aspect that people should understand is that you have to want to give up smoking for NLP to work,” explained Matt. “The system is extremely effective and beneficial which can help with a number of issues including giving up smoking or with phobias etc. but participants have to have the commitment and mind set to change and move forward, to be the very best they can.”
Bar Sport is a unique concept which combines a comfortable and stylish sports environment using quality interior design and state-of-the-art technology alongside great menus cooked by well qualified chefs.
Scott Murray is proprietor and originator of Bar Sport; “This is such a great opportunity to work with someone as talented as Matt to help promote a healthier lifestyle to our customers. The athletes that we watch and follow are dedicated to keeping their bodies in the best shape and this gives us an opportunity to help some of our customers on that first step to following that healthy regime.”
Matt Caulfield is an experienced NLP trainer who works with many organisations and companies to increase the effectiveness of their workforce. By a way of understanding thought patterns and attitudes NLP brings out the best in people helping them to perform naturally, at their very best.
