Del Boy
Sells His Van - 17/12/05
For as while now, Del Boy look alike Maurice Canham has featured in promotions
for short term van rental company Opti-Rent, but at the recent Franchise Show
at the National Exhibition Centre he excelled himself by not only attracting
customers to the Opti-Rent stand, he actually sold 3 rental contracts.
Vans with
Clear Vision
Brand new vans have improved sales for recently launched franchise operation
Clear Vision, who provide windscreen repair services to the general motoring
public. It’s not that they particularly need vans to transport materials
or equipment; it’s the perception of quality and credibility that a well
turned-out van presents to their target audience.
70%
less than you’d expect
Effective and reliable transport is a big part of many franchises, and in business,
transport inevitably means a van. And whilst many franchises provide specialist
equipment, training, products and support, an amazing 70% of franchises that
require the use of a van do not provide one as part of the package. Depending
on how franchisees acquire a vehicle, this can add around £15,000 on to
set up costs. An expense that is completely unnecessary.
Changing
the mechanics of van ownership
New businesses are usually overflowing with enthusiasm and good intentions from
people who have an exceptional knowledge of their market place or their trade.
People who are working very hard to deliver their product or service, sometimes
in the face of strong competition and usually on limited budgets. The trick is
balancing the things you would like to do with the things that you can sensibly
afford, which can be extremely difficult, but not when it comes to vans.
