PROPERTY INVESTOR SURVEY REVEALS SUPERSTITIONS AMONGST SOME! - 07/02/07
The Property Investor Show which comes to the NEC Birmingham in March conducted a pre-show survey among a number of Midlands based investors to ascertain what are the top criteria they put in place when looking for a property.
Not surprisingly location came out on top, with almost all saying that where the property is situated affects its rentability and is the most important issue. One investor commented that “there is no point bagging a bargain if no one wants to live in that area.”
Closely behind were amenities, such as shops and good schools and off road parking. “I have three properties now, have sold two others and wouldn’t consider anything without designated off-road parking,” another investor said. The demands from tenants are constantly changing with regards to the number of bedrooms required but it seems that everyone wants to be able to park their car after a long day at work.
The survey was conducted via a small email database which then spread virally with no incentives. Investors were keen to offer the information on their priorities for building a successful property portfolio and even passed the survey on to other investors, proving that almost everyone does know someone in the property market.
The up-coming Property Investor Show aims to give people the knowledge and the contacts to build a successful portfolio of properties. The show brings together buyers and property specialists including developers, mortgage providers as well as financial and legal experts, who work with people right across the investment spectrum, whether they’re starting out or seasoned hands. The one common theme about the show is that everyone there is serious about making money from property.
Show organiser Nick Clark said “One obviously superstitious investor we spoke to revealed their best advice; ‘never buy a house with a red front door and always choose a property with an odd number!’ It’s not advice that we expect to hear from any of the experts delivering seminars at our show, but you may hear that sometimes there’s no substitute for instinct!”
As well as the expansive selection of UK and overseas exhibitors, The Property Investor Show also features a series of seminars, created to provide information and inspiration, making the route to property investment easier and more profitable for everyone. Entry to the show is free, but visitors need to pre-register online at www.propertyinvestor.co.uk/Birmingham/ where they will also find a seminar schedule for the 23rd to 25th March event.
