Sunderland Stadium unveils £500,000 trackside transformation
19/03/08

Sunderland Greyhound Stadium has unveiled a £500,000 revamp of its famous Bunnies Bar.

The new look trackside restaurant features 10 giant plasma television screens, a new and bigger bar and Tote counter.

The more sociable seating layout aims to build an even better atmosphere in the 600 capacity bar, which also includes a snack bar, air conditioning and huge double glazed windows offering an improved view of the racing action.

The stadium is also proud to be keeping its prices at 2007 levels, despite facing rising costs.

Joe O’Donnell, Director of Greyhound Stadia at Sunderland Greyhound Stadium, said the overhaul of the facilities had created more space and was proving very popular.

“This refurbishment has transformed the trackside restaurant and customers say it has made a massive difference to the atmosphere.

“The buzz in this place on a really busy night is something special and we wanted to make sure everybody has the chance to experience it in style.”

Bunnies Bar is also proving to be a big hit with people who want to continue their night out at the stadium’s Trapz Nightclub next door.

Joe O’Donnell added: “Our customers tend to enjoy a few bets in Bunnies Bar before hopping next door for a dance, so it works very well.”
