Visitors to Derby’s main Ford dealer TC Harrison will get more than they bargained for this Thursday, when the entire new Ford range will be on offer at cost price, for one day only.
Unfortunately, there will be two cars on display in the showroom that are not for sale, a stunning new 500hp Ford GT, described by some enthusiasts as the greatest supercar of all time, sitting alongside an incredible original Ford GT40, dubbed the Ferrari beater after race and championship wins in the 1960’s.
“The original GT40, has been a much loved part of the TC Harrison family for years and to see it here in our showroom, alongside its new GT counterpart is incredible. We believe that we are the only Ford dealer in the UK to be showing both of these cars side by side, and we thought we should do something to mark the occasion by doing something else that we don’t think any other Ford dealer would - and that’s selling brand new cars at cost price.” Explained TCH Sales Manager Garry Hawksworth, adding “We are welcoming anyone who wants to come along to see the GT’s on Thursday, it has to be for one day only, just like the cost price deal, but I think it’s going to be pretty popular and a day to remember.”
Rumours quickly spread by phone and text message today as the cars were seen being offloaded from their transporters. People just turned up to stare, including 24 year old Australian visitor Aaron Tate, who had persuaded friends to bring him to Pride Park especially to see the car. He said “I heard the Ford GT was here, and when we arrived there were two cars under covers, luckily it didn’t take much persuasion for the guys to take them off. I didn’t expect to see both cars. They’re amazing.”
