Ad Agency wins Greyhound Race
18/08/06

Ward Lovett are celebrating an interesting new account win with a night at the dogs. The Birmingham based full service ad and PR agency have just won a half-million pound plus account, featuring a TV campaign that will promote greyhound racing for BGRB, the British Greyhound Racing Board who represent 31 independent tracks right across the UK. A night at the dogs is attracting an increasingly young and vibrant crowd who are enjoying the dogs as a destination and a night out. The campaign also involves a unique online presence and response handling system to distribute offers specific to each track location.

Justine Page, Ward Lovett’s Client Services Director said “This was a pitch involving ourselves as the only regional agency and several London based media specialists – our success has been put down not only to competitive media buying but to the additional web and customer contact expertise we are able to provide.”

The campaign comes at an important time for the greyhound industry, who are investing in the next generation of race goers as well as encouraging those who haven’t visited for a while to come back to the track. Belle Vue stadium, which is arguably one of the best known tracks in Britain also celebrates its 80th birthday this year, proving that just like football, something traditional can move forwards and still provide cutting edge entertainment and great sport.

The creative will deliver a ‘lively and vibrant’ message when it goes to air on both terrestrial and satellite networks in September and October. The whole campaign is being managed in-house by Ward Lovett whose other accounts include well known automotive, retail and business to business clients.
