Greyhound racing to go ahead in spite of weekend flooding

Staff at Oxford Greyhound Stadium have worked hard over the weekend to clear up after flash flooding caused racing to be abandoned on Saturday (27th June 2009).

Stadium manager Maureen Ridley said; “The severe downpour caused some guttering to overflow and we ended up with a some water inside the building. There wasn’t too much damage and we have mopped up and have de-humidifiers in place which are doing the trick.”

“Oxford Stadium hosts The William Hill Cesarewitch meeting tonight (Tuesday 30th June) which will go ahead as planned. It is one of the highlights in our calendar. It is also being shown live on Sky TV.”
