Beacon in Cannock

Claimar Care   Thursday 09 July 2009
Beacon in Cannock

Manager, Michelle Anderson and her team have plenty to smile about as their branch in Cannock has been hailed as a beacon amongst the company’s nationwide branches.

The Cannock branch of Claimar Care, who provides domiciliary care to many residents of Cannock and surrounding areas, was subjected to an audit that assessed every aspect of their day to day running including customer care, administration, training and quality of care given. In achieving 99% in the audit, the branch has established itself as a Beacon Branch within the company structure by demonstrating excellent working practise to comply with minimum standards. The audit was independent from the Care Quality Commission (QCQ), the regulator of health and social care in England who awarded the branch a 2star Good rating in its last inspection.

Claimar’s Director of quality, safeguarding and customer engagement, Karen McGrady said: “As a company making in excess of 81,000 visits per week to provide care across the UK, we strive to achieve above–and- beyond the minimum standards that are set out by the regulatory body. Conducting regular audits in our branches allows us to maintain the quality of care that we provide and gives us the opportunity to ensure that our staff are motivated and working toward the same aim.”

Claimar Cannock will be holding several forums in July from their branch at Riding Park, Eastern Way. Existing and potential service users will be invited to attend and care professionals will be covering aspects of care that focus on adults with multiple needs and learning disabilities.
