Dunlop moves into Top Gear to grip the live show

Dunlop, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high performance tyres, has been chosen to provide gripping action at the Top Gear Live World Tour. Dunlop has been selected as the Official Tyre Partner of the event, which promises to thrill petrolheads around the world, with Live events in Birmingham, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Sydney, Auckland and Hong Kong.

The first Top Gear Live Show takes place at Earl’s Court, London on November 5-8. The show then moves to Birmingham's NEC from November 12-15 for four days of action - just a few miles away from the home of Dunlop’s global motorsport factory at Fort Dunlop.

Then Dunlop and the Top Gear team speed off to grip the world with their precision driving, thrilling action and high-octane excitement. The tour moves to Dublin’s RDS arena on 3rd – 6th December.
The Top Gear Live team, including Jeremy Clarkson, James May, Richard Hammond and the mysterious Stig, have chosen Dunlop as a key technical partner to the event. With some of the fastest cars in the world being pushed to their mechanical limits in the confined space of indoor arenas, precision, grip and control are vital to harness the horsepower and guarantee a great show.

Nicole Smith, Dunlop UK Brand Manager stated: “A show as spectacular as Top Gear Live requires serious technical partners that can provide the performance the stars and cars demand. Many of the latest tyres in the Dunlop range feature Kevlar® in the construction. Kevlar® is a synthetic fibre five times stronger than steel and when coupled with Dunlop’s Touch Technology design ethos it produces a tyre for drivers who demand the highest levels of feedback and performance”.

Top Gear Live will also mark a welcome return in the UK for the iconic Dunlop Bridge. The landmark structure was removed from Donington Park earlier this year, to allow for track developments in advance of the 2010 British Grand Prix. After pressure from fans, the much-loved structure will make a spectaclar comback, becoming centrepiece at the entrance to the show.

The remaining Dunlop bridge is at Le Mans and is another motorsport legend. It has witnessed Dunlop's success over the years with 34 wins in the demanding Le Mans 24 Hour race.
